Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Happy Birthday!

May 17 is Norway’s national day and celebration is well underway! During this hour we know what freedom is.
Today is the day with barbecue, “pølser”(sausages), ice cream, “bunader”, music and flags waving in wind all over Norway and all around the world. There is a constitutional celebration, a national pride but most of all, today is the children’s day.

May 17, the celebration has set the children in the center; the children are an important symbol of this day, a symbol of the future and hope. Today gives all the children a common understanding of who Norway and Norwegians are as a nation.

Congratulations to Norway and congratulations to all Norwegians!
